Welcome to the AITeamGuide weekly: the best new AI agents, real prices, real-world use cases and new open-source tools. It's short, so here goes.
What's new on the site
AITeamGuide now covers AI agents for 25 jobs, not just phones. They include marketing, recruiting, bookkeeping, legal, scheduling, IT helpdesk and ecommerce.
175 agents now have full listings with prices taken from each vendor's public pricing page, plus 579 basic listings that are clearly marked while we verify them. Browse all agents.
The Hub has 104 open-source listings (agents, skills, MCP servers and playbooks), most with copy-and-paste install steps for Cursor, VS Code and Claude. Built something? Submit it.
New pages: a price comparison table, a real use cases feed and a What's new log.
Price changes: none yet. Every price was checked on October 21, so this is our baseline. From next week, any price move shows up here.
The cost lesson: the sticker price is often not the bill
Of the first 149 agents we gave full listings (prices checked October 21), 35 don't publish a price at all (you have to contact sales), 29 charge per seat or per user, and 18 advertise a starting price that assumes you pay for a year up front.
Per-seat pricing adds up quickly. Here's a simple example: Jasper lists $69 per seat a month, so a 5-person marketing team would pay $345 a month before any add-ons. Before you sign up, ask three things: how many seats you really need, what the monthly (not yearly) price is, and what happens when you go over the usage limit.
This week's picks
Meeting notes: Granola has a free plan, and Business is $14 per user a month. Compare the rest in meeting notes agents.
Answering the phone: the AI receptionist cost index shows what each tool really costs at 300 calls a month.
A real-world use case worth reading
Semgrep's security researchers had Claude Code and OpenAI Codex hunt for vulnerabilities in real Python web apps. Both found real bugs, about 20 of them high severity, but more than 80% of what they flagged were false positives. The lesson: AI agents can find real problems, but someone still has to check their work. (Source: Semgrep blog.) More real use cases.
New in the Hub
Browser Use: open-source Python library that lets an AI model drive a real browser: click, type, fill in forms and read pages.
Playwright MCP: Microsoft's MCP server that gives your AI tool browser control, with one-click install.
