Welcome to the AITeamGuide weekly: the best new AI agents, real prices, real-world use cases and new open-source tools. This week: what AI agents typically cost for each job, three price changes, and what to do before OpenAI Agent Builder shuts down.
What changed on the site this week
Price changes (3): 11x now publishes a price: Alice Growth starts at $3,750 a month, billed annually. Artisan now shows startup prices (Intern $250 a month and Employee $600 a month, billed annually) plus a free plan. Opera Neon added a free plan; its own agents need Standard at $19.90 a month.
238 agents now have full listings with prices from each vendor's pricing page (175 last week), plus 771 basic listings (579 last week). Many of the new ones are in healthcare, legal, scheduling, real estate, security and meeting notes. Browse all agents.
New AI receptionist with a full review: XBert by Nextiva, $99 a month for 100 sessions, then $0.99 per session.
The Hub has 109 open-source listings (104 last week). New: Due Diligence Agents (a team of AI agents that reads an M&A data room), Repliers MCP server (MLS listing search), OpenCaseLaw (Swiss case law), mailveri-mcp (email list verification) and SiftStack real estate investing skills.
The AI receptionist cost page now has a calculator: enter your calls per month and average call length to estimate the real monthly bill for each tool.
Free data for builders: our prices are an open dataset (CSV and JSON, CC BY 4.0), and a free, read-only MCP server lets Claude, Cursor or VS Code look up AI agent prices for you. No API key needed.
New job categories: none this week. We're still at 25 jobs and spent the week filling the thin ones.
The cost lesson: "how much is an AI agent?" depends on the job
Across the 237 AI agents and AI receptionists in our open pricing dataset (prices checked October 20 to 27, 2026), the median lowest paid plan is $25 a month (176 list a monthly price). But that one number hides a 20x spread between jobs. Median lowest paid plan by job:
Scheduling: $11 a month (18 priced)
Meeting notes: $18 (10 priced)
Coding: $20 (13 priced)
Customer support: $40 (8 priced)
Bookkeeping and finance: $65 (7 priced)
Sales and SDR: $108 (12 priced)
AI receptionists: $112 (18 priced)
Legal: $225 (6 priced; the other 6 we list only quote by sales)
Two things push the real bill above those numbers. First, usage: for 20 AI receptionists, our estimate of the real monthly bill at 300 calls has a median of $280.50, against a median advertised starting price of $112. Second, annual billing: 11x lists Alice Growth at $3,750 a month billed annually, which is $45,000 a year, while the FAQ on the same pricing page says Growth starts at $36,000 a year. So before you sign, get the annual total in writing, and run your own volume through the receptionist calculator or the price table. Full method and numbers: AI agent pricing statistics.
This week's picks
If you built on OpenAI Agent Builder: it's scheduled to shut down on November 30, 2026. Export your workflows (Code, then Agents SDK) and test them before then. 9 of the 11 alternatives we list have a free plan, including n8n, Make and Zapier.
Answering the phone: XBert by Nextiva is $99 a month for 100 sessions, then $0.99 each, so about $297 a month at 300 calls. Compare it with the rest in the calculator.
Scheduling on a budget: SavvyCal is $10 per user a month billed annually ($12 monthly). More in scheduling agents.
Want to start free? 92 of the 238 AI agents and AI receptionists we list in full have a $0 plan. See them by job on free AI agents.
Real use cases: we added 11 use cases from public posts (Oct 20 to 26), covering Claude Code, Codex, n8n, Gamma, ElevenLabs, Lovable and more. Read them.
Free for readers: the AI agent pricing cheat sheet, the cheapest listed paid plan in each of 25 job categories on one page (also as a CSV).
